Anyone want to help make a Space 1889 movie?

Wonderful project on Kickstarter, an independent "fan flick" being made by professional video journalists (very well known if you follow Space 1889 or the European larp/rpg scene).

As well as the intro video there is a 6 minute trailer further down the page that shows the very high production quality the team are working to.

If you have any interest in VSF (not just Space 1889) for tabletop or rpg gaming I really hope you will consider backing this project. The more backing it gets the longer and better the film will be.

Would be kinda fun. 

They have added a 2 DVD option instead of BlueRay to all the multi reward pledges.

I hope this project gets funded, partly for the film itself, but also because projects like this are what KS was intended for and if it succeeds other indie film projects could follow.

I can only hope that they do a good job given their budget limitations / casting. I've no doubt of their love for the project but a poor showing wouldn't help the long term promotion of the genre. Wish them the best but have my worries.

Don't have any qualms about this; likely to only get noticed if good.

And the participants have a track record, so I stand by what I said elsewhere: I figure it will tend towards campy cosplay, but with real love of Space 1889.  

Still wondering about 'flyers'...

While there have been plenty of last minute saves on KS, does not bode well for those stretch goals...

The Venusian scenes are now to be included, next stretch goal is the Aetherflyer cockpit set. Really would be great to get that included as well, another €4k in 5 days.

This is one of the best projects I have seen run on KS, everyone involved (backers and project team) seems fully committed to the project for its own sake rather than for bucket loads of free tat. Refreshing to see.

The cockpit was probably the highest on my list. I'm already in at a fairly high, for me, level, but SOOO tempting.

Does seem so, doesn't it? The team is especially friendly and open to suggestions, and yet obviously have a good vision of what's to come.

And the backer comments include 'why don't you make this exclusive so you can rake in more bucks' type things. How close to 'shut up and take my money' can you get? 

We REALLY want it to happen.

Just in case anyone wondered, how many updates can include 'the crew went to China, shot some vid, and bought a dinosaur'? 

I have been promised some 'blink and you'll miss me' screen time, so I'll re-update this if I've any further info.
