Pulp Alley/40k AAR: "Exit Strategy"
« on: 22 September 2015, 04:23:36 PM »
Just John, theottovonbismark, Mr Saturday and I got together with a non-forumite gaming buddy for a four player game of Pulp Alley set in the 40k universe.

The game featured Adeptus Mechanicus infested by genestealers, the Imperial Audit (a militarised arm of the Administratum), the ratling forces of Leprecia led by the dastardly Cpt Jameson and the evil corporation of Nu U and their abominable science projects.

The game was a four player affair (I GMed, not that it really needed it) split over two battlefields - St Craniums Cemetery and the megalopolis of Sector 13 - linked by nano-voodoo driven techno arcana warp tunnels.  Each side had objectives on each battlefield which made for fun dimension hopping.

The rules worked well and the portals were dynamic rather than bottlenecks, and we wrapped up the game in an afternoon.  It was a lot of fun and it generated a large number of laughs.

A more detailed account with more images etc is on my blog.

Thanks for looking!

Love it. The Sigmar/Warhammer terrain and the old minis match beautifully.

Yeah, the boxier, more modular looking pieces are Mantic Deadzone pieces.  I have loads more assembled and sprayed, I just need to put aside a few days to add some detail and weathering.  I will put up a proper post about them then.

Love it. The Sigmar/Warhammer terrain and the old minis match beautifully.

Im a big believer in tying disparate miniature ranges together in games, I think that folks often let notions of scale compatibility get in the way of having fun.  We all have lines that we think shouldnt be crossed in terms of scale, but by and large I am happy to mix all sorts of things.

The AoS Realmgates are nice models, evocative and loads of fun to paint.  I thoroughly recommend them :)

That was hilarious! Totally barmy, but what a great report. The two new leagues look good too.

Who makes the Taxi's and do they still make them? :)
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

It's not only the game, which BTW looks awesome (oh what a terrain and such lovely minis all over!), it's the way you made the report, all the narration instils fun and laughter. lol So great!

The Taxis are from Black Cat Bases, so I am hesitant to suggest that you order from them.  Read this thread first I reckon, even if recent developments are rather good.

The taxis are fun models.  There are some more photos of them and the other vehicles in my Sci-fi Non-Combatants thread.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
