Grimdork After the Fall
« on: March 12, 2016, 11:08:11 PM »
Hi folks, I'm a little unused to doing individual topics for specific projects (over on Dakka I just pack it all into the same blog) but things seemed a bit more structured/specific in terms of painting/hobby and time periods over here so I thought I'd start a topic for my most recent work: Post Apocalyptic warbands and scenery inspired by/for use with the This is Not a Test ruleset.  I don't get to play a lot so the rules aren't terribly important to me, but I do like to have at least a loose path to pursue when inspiration isn't running the show on it's own.  Anyway, enough blabbing, I've got two Warbands finished and a wrecked rusted car so here we go:

I'm not sure what size people usually use for their photos hereabouts, but I figure it's my thread so I'm gonna do it the easy way.  Also forgive the photography, I've got a couple of kids so I take my hobbying on the run when I can get it..photos usually suffer.  Daylight shots of everything coming when it happens.

Reclaimer Excavation team led by Lord Reclaimer Grimms.  Grimms is joined by a fellow reclaimer, a seeker (junior/grunt position, kinda like a squire to a knight) and two diggers.  Everyone is filthy because excavating lost technological relics is what they do, when they aren't fighting for their lives against the wasteland's denizens.

Closer look at the two reclaimers and the car.  I really need to get a good shot of the front of these two.

Here we have Leena's Lambs, a raider warband liberated and eventually led by Leena, the nice lady in power armor.  After being put on the equivalent of death row for a relatively minor breach of Peacekeeper enforced 'law' Leena and the others (individually at the time) were fitted with bomb collars and were due to be used as manual labor and collar controlled speed bumps against other criminals in the Peacekeepers' quest for wasteland justice.  Having none of that, Leena used her adequate skills to deactivate the collars and stage an escape.  On the way out she also liberated the massive mutant/cyborg/experiment called only 'Deadman' and he has become her loyal bodyguard since.  Shortly after escape the raiders discovered a semi-intact prewar factory where Leena managed to refurbish her loader exosuit, firmly cementing her leadership role.  Now the Lambs prowl the wastes trying to stay alive, somewhat less openly aggressive than other raider groups, but when they happen upon peacekeepers no mercy is offered.

So, there you have a couple of TNT warbands and a single lonely piece of terrain.  I hope to change the terrain thing shortly, though there are always so many projects I would like to get to.

I'll try to update this thread with any further photos and new warbands or scenery.

Welcome aboard!

Yes we all have a few threads on 'the go' - some more than others, well done for picking up the methodology and welcome to the PA board!

 8)  8)  8) Very cool selection of minis there and nice weathering, I like the dirty space suit/power armour. It looks very post apocalyptic!

Where is Leena (in the exo suit) from? Thats a rather cool figure. Nice construction yellow too  :-*

Cheers
Matt

Very cool!
Television is rather a frightening business. But I get all the relaxation I want from my collection of model soldiers. P. Cushing

Thanks guys :)

Leena is Brute Force, an MVP from Dreadball Xtreme.  But... having trouble finding her on the Mantic webstore.  Not sure if she's one of those things that hasn't been released yet, or if they're going to.  DBX seems to be kind of on the short end of the stick compared to KoW (doing really well and getting attention) and some of their newer stuff.

Sometimes I think the power armor is too dirty but then I just need to load up fallout and look at how nasty all of the people walking around are :D
