Eagle Rampant - First Club Game
« on: 08 April 2016, 10:50:14 PM »
Guys

My gaming group had its first game of Eagle Rampant last night, the Napoleonic variant of Lion Rampant. Very playable  :)

More details and pics on my Blog: http://vultureswargamingblog.blogspot.co.uk/2016/04/eagle-rampant-at-harrogate-wargames-club.html

Anyone else tried them out yet ? We were quite impressed :)

Kind regards to all

Love your minis.
Fine looking game.
May I ask, what company makes the large red brick building.
Also, love the name of your blog.

Great photos of superbly painted miniatures!

You just forgot to mention who got the baggage in the end :)

Photos suggest Brits, but your omission of this fact suggest the French ;D

I am waiting for WI to arrive to my local shop to try it myself.
I see it as lest story-dependent and simpler alternative to Sharps practice I am using for more-scennario oriented games.

Nice miniatures and terrain!

Haven't tried them yet but planning on doing so!
It was a bit weird how apologetic the article in WI was though...  :?

I'm not sure whose it is.  I shall enquire with some of the other club members and see if anyone can remember   :)

I've gone and 'tweaked' the wording and added some more detail about the game.  Yes, the god-fearing Brits carried the day :D   A very very close game  :)

Here's another pic I'm going to add to the Blog, looking south earlyish in the game.

Great.

One thing that might be useful for ones like me (without WI) would be Order de battalie - at least what u can recollect from it.

Thanks for the reply about the red brick building.
Will have to check it out.

Vulture

Will have to check out the rules,
they sound like a lot of fun.
Have been thinking about using Sharpe Practice for this period.

I am using Sharp practice.

Sharp 2 due to later this month looks like no brainer, although Rampant series are  less story oriented and simpler.

Best to try both and decide which works best for you.

For me its SP better for campaign games but ER for participant games for club friends not involved in the period nor my storyline.
