Action City (Riverbank, City of Action!)
« on: 08 April 2016, 07:12:27 PM »
I'm going to do a test here, as this is my first post.  Hopefully the picture doesn't need to be resized, but I can always edit, right?

Ok, there's lots more, just scroll down a bit.  I'll post more here when I find an easier way to do it.

The pictures on my blog, if you click on them, get really big (which is very nice, but not on a forum post...)  Hope you like my set-up as much as I enjoyed putting it all together.

Classic HO beauty.  :-* :-* :-*

I would love to do PA in 20mm. You can get so much more on the table, and it's so affordable! But I'm the only one in our group who enjoys collecting and painting in "the one true scale."

Television is rather a frightening business. But I get all the relaxation I want from my collection of model soldiers. P. Cushing

The forum is set up to resize any large picture to max. 1000px wide.

Awesome stuff in there, BTW.

Everyone in good time will compare any post-apocalypse scenery to Detroit inevitably, but that boarded-up building really looks like it belongs there.

Nice work.

eBay, Baby!  In the HO Railroad section.  Thanks, everyone!

Yeah, I have a lot more to do.  The tiles are desert-color, so I'm going to do some in medium dirt color, more pigments, add some dry vegetation, and when I mount the buildings I'll be putting in a lot of rubble/rubbish piles.

Currently I'm working on road sections.  I can't find post-epoc roads I like and the nice ones in the center are too much work, so I'm casting them.  I should have a tutorial lined up by Wednesday unless it looks like crap and I'm too embarrassed to post it.  I already posted my failure, so I'm pretty confident this time.

I do a lot of 28mm gaming, and I have to say I just love 15mm for a couple reasons.  First, it's dirt-cheap comparatively.  Second, I don't have to stick to the high painting standards, as most of the group doesn't see all that well anymore and third, I can get to play on a board that's 98% full-color.  Getting my 28mm stuff painted seems to be an un-achievable dream.

When I started this, there wasn't much 28mm Post-Apoc stuff, but now...I'd go into the poor house if I switched scales.  Tempting though.

Love your terrain.
The buildings look like they have seen better days.
That's just the look you want playing this period.
