I liked the xmas episode. THe cyber king though, a giant metal robot, heavily armoured. Except the crew compartment which is open. Hmm, not such a good design feature in my opinion...

Not unlike the sort of design you would expect Evil Empire to come up with .... lol

They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....

Yes, well my mate has the first Daleks story arc on DVD, with Tom Bake rin it. I must say that I think that is the best DrWho story out there.

Genesis of the Daleks is a very good story, but isn't a story arc... classic Who only did two story arcs, Tom Baker had the Key to Time and Colin Baker had the Trial of a Time Lord, neither had Daleks. The Dalek stories post Genesis (and post Davros) are continuous as far as chronology is concerned (particularly Davros' chronology), but aren't strictly a story arc as years seperate each story and the only real link is Davros rather than plot...

For my money Genesis of the Daleks is the best Dalek story and ideal for wargaming purposes too (just finished converting some Artzan British Paras into Thall infantry - just need to do some Kaleds).

I have not been at all keen on most of the recent Dr Who story lines.  The Daleks have been over used, the Sontarans turned into a joke and the Cybermen fiddled about with far too much although I note in the recent story an attempt to link them in with the old story lines using those data tube thingies.   Given that they come from another dimension and are not all related to the Cybermen who orignated from Earth's twin planet Mondas I was somewhat surprised that they knew so much about this dimensions past. I also wonder why they keep coming and attacking our dimension when they have a prefectly good enough one of their own to dominate.  They also look crap (they were designed more with marketing the action doll in mind) and are not as intimidating as "real" Attack of the Cybermen or  Earthshock Cybermen:

For my money the BBC should have stuck to this design concept even if it is too difficult to make into an action figure:

With the departure (sadly not  exile to another dimension) of Russel T Davies I hope things will improve, but I am not holding my breath.

Sorry rant over....and relax....

been working on something similar myself... black shirts for the Scientific Elite Security were a problem, but some are coming out for a new ECW 1938 range...

they nicked the data tubes from the Daleks in the void...

well the guess was that that dimension split sometime after the Tooth and Claw story... although Pete's World was a republic, it had a Torchwood which was set up by Victoria, so their knowledge of Earth would have been comparable...

With the departure (sadly not  exile to another dimension) of Russel T Davies I hope things will improve, but I am not holding my breath.

doubtful, they've already paid for the costumes...
