Figure ID assistance - Solved, thank you.
« on: 14 June 2016, 06:09:58 PM »
In my recent efforts to locate certain sorts of anthromorphic animal miniatures I've dug too deep and too greedily.
I've located some old and assumably out-of-print stuff but can't clearly verify their origin to see whether I could still get some from somewhere.

First is this fellow:

The site I found the picture in states his base inscription says ""FF 75 (c) Grenadier"
I've gone through Stuff Of Legends for Grenadier but couldn't spot him anywhere there.

Next up is this one:

(Be advised that tail has been added there afterwards by the miracle of greenstuff and is not part of the original mini!)

The site states "This is an old Grenadier (?) model from the "Fangs of Fury Command" blister pack",
and in my research I've found out that the Fangs Of Fury was a set of "beastmen" sculpted by Robert N. Charrette
for Ral Partha's Chaos Wars line, which "were appended to the CS/02-xxx Collector's Series" according to Wikipedia.

Again, I've gone through Ral Partha's stuff on Stuff Of Legends but couldn't spot any such beastmen there -
I'm going by the assumption that since this catgirl's from a command blister, there should've been at least 1 "troop" pack to go with them
and I'm quite curious about what those'd look like.

If anyone more knowledgeable can advice, it'd be well appreciated.  :D

The first one is a Grenadier "knoll"/gnoll by Julie Guthrie. It was originally sold individually in a red blister as part of the Fantasy Personalities range. It's no. 875 here.

From memory, the Fangs of Fury were mainly conversions of Tom Meier's orcs/giant goblins/half-orcs - with gnollish features. There was a bear commander in armour with a longsword and some crawling gnoll-types based on the Meier orc with mace. I think I still have some of them kicking around somewhere.

Here they are. Perhaps only Gnoll B was once an orc.
