1930's Japanese armoured car?
« on: August 17, 2016, 10:16:56 AM »
Hi fellow gamers,
I'm looking for a Japanese type 92 osaka armoured car, or Hokoku-go?

I'm after 1:48 or 1:50 scale.
I've seen a 1st corps German car from their WWI page. This could do at a push, but I'd prefer a proper model?

Lol,
The Crossley is a possible 'stand in' for what I want, also the slightly smaller scale is again a compromise.
However, it's not in stock, ha!

Thanks for the help so far, keep em coming.

This one was produced to tie in with the Tintin story (Blue Lotus) - I think it may be 1/43 - you might find one cheaper on Ebay not in packaging.

In the battles in China in 1932, the Japanese used tank Renault FT-17 - a model can find easily.

Perhaps there is a model Vickers Crossley M25 (type 87)

Or tankette Carden-Loyd Mk VI

Excellent photo's, thanks.
However it's the type 92 is what I'm after I'm afraid.
The Crossley is a possible compromise.

Cheers

I'll be adding a several armoured cars to the 1st Corps range with in the next six weeks. The range is heading east. The type 92 is too late for the range. It may prove exotic enough to add to the new pulp/inter war stuff (after I finish the Rolls Royce for the range).
If your in a hurry I'd suggest you look at the Russians six wheel armoured cars as a better starting point for a stand in or kit bash. The B(something)10.not the 6.(possibly in 20mm if your going to kit bash)
Mark.

Humm... I'm getting confused?
The type 92 osaka appears as a 4X4 in my research,
there is a six wheeler, and that has the extra set of railway wheels.
Apparently Gasoline make a 1:48 model of that?
I mat try the 1st Corps German armoured car already available, and convert from that?

Amazing what a simple question can turn up from you lot!  :-*

Thanks

Gasoline does this in 1/48:

Not quite what you want but.....

If you ahve never built one of their kits, they are a pleasure to make and usually very clean castings.

This is what I'm thinking of using as a base to work on?
