Lovely stuff JB. I can see you gradually falling under the spell of VSF ;)

Keep it up, now we want to more inventiveness form you and more beautifully painted figures. :)

Right, decided he needed the cuffs after all, so here's the latest version:

Do we think that this is an improvement? I'm a lot happier with him now.

Excellent!  I agree that he presents a more proper and gentlemanly, military bearing.

How many of these fine fliers are you planning on fielding?

Really good. Odd how such a little thing can add so much definition.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Perfect. You only painted them on, no sculpting involved, right? Worked out fine.

Cheers, yes just painted on. I'd be too scared to sculpt on top of a finished figure for fear of mucking it up.

@ Bookman, unfortunately, there are no more fliers planned at the moment, unless I can find some more suitable figs. He's a one of a kind, worst luck.

EDIT:

These were suggested on another thread, Westwind bobbies:

Swap their heads for the Empress miniatures ones, and give them weapons more fitting and this might be a goer. Hmmm, now where can I get some loose Victorian weapons? Anyone any ideas?  ???

Redoubt Minaitures do a pack of ten Martini Henry rifles in their Zulu wars range, they also have carbine versions too. :)

.... the might of my R.A.R.S.E. may yet take to the skies.

Which is a rather disturbing thought  :?

Oh, sorry, on reading again I realised it says R.A.R.S.E.

Lovely figure, JB and I look forward to seeing many hundreds of your other VSF creations  :D

JB, Wessex bobbies are already armed, I'm not sure how easy it is to get hold of them these days and they are not the best sculpts in the world. My lot saw action and met their demise at Kew, there are a few pics on the AAR (about half way down):
