A follow up to my previous suggestion/query on treasure tokens.
The Hand of Glory item in the Liche set of tokens...I can't find in any of the books...
Looking up the background* of this I'd suggest this as a specific new magic item only available when found in special scenarios.
The Hand of Glory:
The owning wizard lights the hand and holds it forth, all opposing figures in LOS are subject to the Petrify spell, cast at the spell's normal level of 12 (subject to NO modifications by the caster). This counts as casting a spell. In the subsequent rounds, it does not count as casting a spell. It takes no actions to keep alight thereafter, but the wizard may only move at half rate.
In the subsequent round, the hand continues to burn, or rather smoulder, so the spell is again cast, but at a lower level of 8, and then in the third round at 4, before it gutters out.
If the Hand of Glory is used, after the game roll a d20 and on a roll of 15+ it may be used again, otherwise it is used up and must be discarded.
* According to old European beliefs, a candle made of the fat from a malefactor who died on the gallows, lighted, and placed (as if in a candlestick) in the Hand of Glory, which comes from the same man as the fat in the candle, this would render motionless all persons to whom it was presented.
