Undead henchmen/dregs...?
« on: 16 February 2017, 09:54:36 PM »
Hey all,

Working on a Vampire/Undead band for Mordheim and I'm struggling to find suitable dregs/henchmen.  I've put some plastics together with the Frostgrave cultist sprue, but simply put, I don't love them.  I'm trying to find good metal miniatures for undead henchmen (humans, but...sickly looking I suppose).  Reaper released a small blister of two good looking ones holding meat cleavers, but I'm anxious to find more suitable miniatures.

Any ideas?

And since dregs are social outcasts... what about a weird late 70s take?

I got this guy for the same intention a few years back. Lovely little figure if large of cranium. Makes sense for an igor though. Lots of parts... http://www.freebooterminiatures.de/index.php/en/shop2-2/collector-s-edition/product/view/8/92

Thanks for the suggestions.  None of them are hitting the mark squarely, but I keep creeping through Reaper trying to see if I've missed some better options.  I think I'll end up with their dregs and find a way to re-weaponize them I guess.

You can probably get a lot of pretty good pieces to work into a frostgrave plastics set from the Mantic Ghouls and Zombies sets. Even the GW zombies sets can be mix and matched there for stuff that can create some interesting stuff.

There is an old Grenadier hunchback minion with a spade. I have him in a boxed set called Folklore creatures of the night.

Also, have you seen what this guy has done:

Might give a bit of inspiration.

All those three dregs are original GW models (from WQ and Mordheim) hard to find at Ebay and thus very expensive! ;D

Yeah, original models are out of consideration due to rarity/cost.  I'll be rolling with my Frostgrave bashes for the moment (don't love them).  I'll be keeping an eye out for additional options though.

A crappy photo of a limp and hunchback 3-minutes-dreg-conversion using GW bitz: orc body and arms (the right one with the massive cleaver), zombie legs and head!  ;)
