Warhammer Style Corridors, looking foe help
« on: 08 April 2017, 07:06:31 PM »
I am doing a little project related to zone mortalis and space hulk. Sadly, It do not fit Horus Heresy style, or so i was told.  :(
Looking for some feedback on how to make my corridors better.

I would look at the street furniture and accessories from the Imperial building sets.

Techno-Gothic stuff such as the light fittings, skills, saints etc.

As an alternative, Zinge industries has a range of bulkhead lights that would work:
https://www.zinge.co.uk/collections/transparent-light-diffusers though if you are designing the laser cut MDF, you could make some fittings to take the bulk head lights as an option.

Have a look at the artwork and existing similar scenary, but be aware of IP, it can look similar but do not copy.

I think they look very Horus Heresey and nice.  I think you should keep doing what you are doing.  The Imperium was big and your stuff seems to fit in the general feel of it.

As it stands, they are very nice and useful for a range of games. If you really want to make them 40K style, I would suggest adding a sheet of Eagles, skulls and mechanicum symbols which can be added on as decoration (and make it available separately so that people who want it, can get it but those who don't, aren't saddled with it).

To take it a little further, you could have add ons for the tops of the wall supports that are eagle heads (sticking out like lamp-post lights).

I think they are better as they are though :)

Horus Heresey (i.e. 30K) was a time of optimism and art rather than the dark and dismal world of Blanche style 40K. Just remember the Remebrancers being sent out to record the "glories" of Imperial Crusade.

It was only as the heresy was revealed that it all became dark.

There are a couple of bits in the novels where Terra is being fortified, the fortifications replacing or being built over the beautiful towers and walls of the post reunification wars optimism.

Possibly Renaissance with the first stirrings of the Techno-Gothic. Larger windows but with the space blocked in with almost cruder but smaller windows (with bars and steel shutters).

Two headed eagle sculpture details on a lot of the walls and doors.

None of the pseudo religious imagery of 40K.

Just remember to not paint it dark and dingy, it wants to be light and airy just beginning to fade and tarnish.

I like it a lot.
With a bit of a cleaner and brighter paintjob, it would look awesome I feel.

Those eldar are pretty sweet too, by the way. Love the white/purple. Very clean.
