Any chance for a rundown on the buildings (scratchbuilt or commercially available) and how the surface was created?
The buildings are mostly Grand Manor AWI, 'cos a timber house is basically a timber house
and I added a teddy bear thatched roof to a couple of them to match some Russian houses I'd seen photos of. The church and 1 of the buildings are 1st Corps, which really are gorgeous buildings, and the graveyard is scratched from various bits and pieces I had lying around. The two village wells you can see were scratchbuilt by one of my colleagues, Baron Hardup.
The cloth is a basic teddy bear fur, sprayed with Halfords car spray (I really need to work it up again to reduce the contrast) and shaved back to roughen it up. The roads are shaved in to the backing cloth and then builders caulk is used to provide a road surface. The useful bit is that it all lies quite naturally over some hill formers and the really useful bit is that it is easy to transport and store.
