Just getting back into 10mm wargaming, doing it for SYW, Austrians and Prussians, so it's great to see such lovely looking games on here.

Do you allow your Prussians significant advantages in movement order, manoeuvre, and maintaining ranks and files under fire? I do, since it seems to me that that is the story which comes off the pages of 18th century battle descriptions, but an English gamer I know - not a rookie - complains that it gives them too much of an advantage.

I haven't really thought about rules yet, just amassing the armies ready for painting, but I think you are right what you read in the books gives them an advantage over the more lumbering Austrians, I think I will let them have an advantage too.

 As an aside as you are a committed 10mm wargamer, what do you undercoat with? I tend to use black primer for bigger figures but worry it may obliterate detail on 10mm figures, advice would be much appreciated.

Almost entirely matt black (I cheated and used white with my SYW Austrians, for obvious reasons). Some 10mm enthusiasts like to undercoat in black, then drybrush a lighter shade just to indicate when raised bits are as a painting aid. I haven't found that necessary.
Do you visit the Pendraken forum? It's a friendly and useful site most of the time.

Pretty much bits and pieces - Duncan Head's book mainly, with references to WRG lists (though I'm willing to include some Indians, since there was plenty of contact between the Seleucids and the Mauryans). Living in Bangkok, I have limited access to real library resources (even on Thai history, alas).
I use lots of phalangites, not at the top of the morale range; thureophoroi and peltasts a-plenty, middle eastern skirmisher foot, Skythians, Arabs, armoured jumboes, a few hoplites, the inevitable chariots, and guards Hetairoi and Agema lancer cavalry. If you want historical details, you may need to ask a local university classics department; they're usually delighted that anyone wants to talk to them!

About the red/black/white regiments, are they named so due to the shield colour?

Yes, that's right. I have a unit of bronze shields as well, but I think the Romans have more than enough enemies, so I use that one mainly for Alexander's army.
