TravelBattle - initial review
« on: 26 April 2017, 10:13:33 PM »
TravelBattle from Perry Miniatures.

My new 8mm Napoleonics on a grid game from the Perry Brothers arrived today (pre-order).

I have put up a blog post re initial impressions. Interesting to see the growing popularity of figure / boardgame cross-over.

Thanks for the insight!  Can't wait to see how you like playing it.

I'm not sure I'll buy one... but I would be very tempted to paint the figures and all the game components... just for the fun of it :)
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://tistaminis.com/

I saw these at Salute, and I was very impressed with the quality of all the components.
Whilst I didn't know enough about it to part with £50 for a set at the time, I have been hoping for a few reviews like yours to surface so that I can better judge if it's something I want to buy/play. So thank you for posting it up! :)

(PS: the copy I saw at the show was apparently painted by Aly Morrison, and detail he painted on - like dappling on the horses for example - was just fantastic!).

Thanks for the review.  I am looking forward to getting my copy. I am getting back into gaming after a long time away and it and Command and Colors Napoleonic seem to be just what I am looking for.  Travel Battle keeps me into miniatures, at least a little. I am hoping they come out with a white (Austrian) army and green (Russian) would be nice so I could fight an Austerlitz type scenario.

I agree on white and green coloured figs! And maybe more different boards?
