Pulp Castle
« on: March 11, 2009, 11:24:25 AM »
My brother is running a pulp campaign with the final objective inside a castle. One of the games is going to be getting into the castle. We needed a façade for a castle. The game is due to be played in a couple of weeks so I have had to abandon my other projects and knock this together. In between painting for the LPL.

Basic layout

I have almost completed the main building. Which is going to sit behind the castle wall above a small gorge.

Main building

Close up of the windows and door

It is my intension to have a small bridge and gate house at one end and firing platform at the other. The gate house I think wants to be higher than the main building but I am not sure about the firing platform. Anybody got any ideas or suggestions. I don’t want to build a big tower but maybe something with some gaming room for figures.
I am also looking for some ideas for the bridge and the main gate.

Another view of the layout

A Google image search for "Hohenwerfen" (Where the film was made) will be alot of help:

No, its a rather invigorating walk to the top.
Probably not as invigorating as hanging off the roof of a cable car though!  :D

I have managed to do some more work to my castle. Still got to finishing painting some of the pieces but I thought I would show you my progress.

New gatehouse with bridge. Main gate to finish

Rampart – still to paint

The complete castle to date

Very Cool. I really like how it's coming along. The colored shutters are great for breaking up the long fields of gray.

Running out of time so this is going to be the final set up of the castle front. I was going to add something on the left.

I may go back at a later date and add some more bits.
A small bit of painting to complete the model.

That's really nice. It makes a good back drop for a game or an objective to reach.
