Panzergrenadier Deluxe - do they work for Early war?

Quick question about the Panzergrenadier Deluxe rules - do they/would they work for the early war?

I've only seen reviews/games for mid-late war; possible I've not been looking hard enough, but if anyone can point me yay or nay would be much appreciated.

I recently bought these rules and have to say I think they are brilliant.  Fast, relatively simple and intuitive but have plenty of flavour and tactical detail.  The rules cover early war right through and depending on the era your troops will have different modifiers to reflect national strengths and weaknesses.

The Russians in the early period have less able command and control and poor artillery but as the war progresses so does their ability in these areas.  They have human wave attacks and dogged resistance.

I read a game report of the rules in MW a while back, I think not long after they were issued, so always been thinking I'd use them if I went back to gaming WW2, good to know they'll work for Early War.

If you want to get the rules cheaper they also do a softback version (black and white print and photos inside).  At £19.50 its £15.50 less than the £35.00 hardback version.
