If he ever gets around to finishing it, I may get around to starting. :)

Fair enough!

Actually that is a very good reason for not reading them YET. You'll get to the end of the 5th one and then have the misery of waiting years for the next one and having to read lots of online fan theories to pass the time.

After a brief hiatus, I finished two more Northern Men-at-Arms. Donnel Locke, carrying a Manderly banner and a man-at-arms of House Woolfield. Two more to go and the first unit will be complete, representing the knights and men-at-arms loyal to House Manderly.

Sweet!  Envy your freehand. Interesting you chose the square bases. Nothing wrong with that.

Ha, yes. I actually prefer the round bases, especially for Daniel Mersey's rule sets but I figured I'd use up the square bases I have. A lot of the communal bases for 20mm squares leave something to be desired, so if that's the route I take later on, I might have to come up with something else...

Thanks! So far I've used pieces from Perry's European 'Mercenaries' and French Army at Agincourt sets, and FireForge Teutonic Infantry and Scandinavian infantry. The two heads from the most recent pictures are metal pieces from Mirliton.
