Having a peek at JTFM's FB page today I saw the rather splendid news that they're getting a new distributor in the UK (good news for the EU too, at least for the next couple of years) trainshop.co.uk - they're setting up a dedicated store front at wargames.shop in the next few days (as ever, take 'exact' timings with a pinch of salt).
I think that contacting them with messages of thanks & encouragement may be of help to us - after all, anything that lets us get hold of the models faster & without the customs hassle has to be a good thing.

Yay!

The site breadcrumbs have improved, I am sure it was home/n gauge/electrics/die waffenthingy yesterday.

Lots of shiny.

Depending on the stocks I'll pick up a Katzchen when I go home. I already have an order from Jeff on the way, but I may as well complete his After-46 German line on my end. Seeing as Heer-46 came out with some shiny stuff I've bought on of theirs too. Time for some comparisons... :)

Oh, and if anyone wants good stowage - the Die Waffenkammer sets are probably the best out there, especially given the price. You're getting many times the amount you'll find in Warlord's pewter sets for only a few pounds (for reference I was able to cover a Sd.Kfz .222 in stowage, along with bits and bobs a fair few more tanks and still have stuff to spare).

I'll have to give it a go then, since my JTFM order seems to have sunk somewhere. From my experiences, Royal Mail seems to be much more reliable than Canada Post.

All those U-Boats still patrolling off the Canadian coast.

...Though Jeff has linked to the Canadian postal service's review page before. I believe there was one complaint about someone who sent a package within the same province, then found it was in Africa months later.

Still, least it made it out of the country, that seems like their sticking point.

Die Waffenkammer's limited as far as carrier goes, with the alternative being even more extortionate. Its not like he's cheaping out, just that they have a monopoly, so can get away with the woeful service. Remember, Jeff's sending out these parcels as something like 1 week guaranteed delivery (and I definitely feel from him, as well we as customers can be annoyed, but it must be hellish as the business owner). :(

Anyway, we'll see how things turn out with this retailer, particularly whether there'll be any issues with getting the shipments from Canada. I'd hate to find out hundreds of Pounds of stock are going into Limbo (unless that is another, more expensive, carrier's being used for this stuff due to the quantity).

...Ah, but I'm probably going off on one here. I wish both parties all the best. :)

Hello,

We had not finished setting up the new website.

Please use https://www.wargames.shop to access the dedicated website from now on.

Die Waffenkammer items are there: https://www.wargames.shop/238-die-waffenkammer

We are working on getting a delivery every 2-3 weeks and to keep the whole range in stock. However as you will appreciate, it will take a few weeks to have everything.

Simply contact me via the website if you require something that we do not have in stock and I will make sure it is included in the next delivery.

Regards,

Max

As an FYI on this...

I placed an order on June 9th, after 5PM, paying extra for express delivery. On June 10 a receipt was confirmed and on June 11 it was out for delivery. I received the parcel today. The delivery itself was well audited; with the ability to select a delivery time as well, though I was at work by the time this came through, so couldn't respond.

So, if Upstairs Downstairs can keep consistent stock up, its looking like they have a very reliable service. I can see myself going to them for Die Waffenkammer's stuff as part of my usual intermittent splurges if they keep this up. :)

Thanks for your support.

We are doing everything we can to keep the stock levels where they should be. The plan is to have several months worth of stock on the shelves so we are not too affected by a delayed delivery from Canada. Obviously this will take a bit of time to reach this level but once we are there, it will be very enjoyable for eveyone.

This is intriguing. I thought Empress miniatures were stocking JTFM. I need to check with Empress to see if I still need to do crew figures for them.
