Great start. Can't wait to see your minis. What ruleset will you use?

I actually wrote my own rules based on actual Fallout mechanics.  After a lot of playtesting, we had to make a few liberties for playability.  I should have the latest version posted on my website by August.

One of my better ideas was loot cards.

I have a pretty good character builder, too.  My main complaint is when you pick say "Educated" it doesn't start when you pick it, it goes retroactive back to level 1 and I don't know how to fix that...

Anyway, I have the card-backs posted so you can make your own cards, and I'll post my card-fronts soon.  I think they should fit into any Fallout game pretty easy.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I'm using a lot of "experimental" techniques on this one.  I just feel it's...missing something.  I'm still not done yet.  Still have some graffiti to do and I still have to finish the rest of the freeway!

That is one fine piece.
The billboard (postcard of a woman with mushroom cloud) looks too clean and intact. Things that size are built up out of several sections, like the one on your building, so I'd assume it would take quite some damage from falling (or ahve falling because of taking damage)
My second concern is the sand. I'm no fan of unpainted sand or rocks. while real, it doesn't look realistic on a diorama. Since you already put grass tufts I'm thinking you won't be painting it or am I wrong?
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons,
for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

You're exactly right about the billboards.  They were an experiment to judge the correct printing size because they were cheap to make.  Was it Delta Dog that had the tutorial with the sandpaper technique?  Anyway, when I find that, I'm going to print out another batch, weather them up and then mount them on weathered bass wood.  The bass wood will show through the holes in the sign and hopefully look fantastic.

I do highly recommend comic book backers for general papercraft projects because they're acid-free.  The boards you see in the uncut sheets are literally 20 years old, no yellowing, no warping.

As for the sand, it's actually RR ballast. I don't plan on painting it, but I do plan on drizzling in more ballast in two other shades and adding a lot of 'post-apocalypse dirt' MIG weathering powder to even it out and make it look more natural.  I want it to look buried in rubble, but it needs to look like it's been buried longer.

Also thinking of adding rust streaks on the plane, but I'm afraid of ruining it.  I'm pretty pleased with the effect, but I'm one of those people that never finishes a miniature due to perfectionism...

Thanks for the input!  I appreciate it.  My gaming group is happy, but it seems a bit sycophantic as it's one of the best pieces we collectively own, and I'm shooting for a higher quality table overall.

Don't judge this one too harshly. I blame the camera.  It's weird, but the signs look pixelated in the photo, but don't in 'real life'.

Needs a lot more rust, some ammo cans, some corrugated siding.  Then I need to weather up the rest of the freeway.
