Boxer Legations in 18 mm! (photos of 5 legations)
« on: May 23, 2017, 02:31:44 AM »
Blue Moon/OG 25 posted a preview of a coming attraction - for those of us who stick with 15/18 mm size figures, this is a BIG deal.

Here you go:

Enjoy.  My wallet is hurting already.

At last!  :D
Been waiting for this for ages ever since this range was first mentioned/mooted quite some time back. Hope it's a comprehensive range and not just aimed at 55 Days in Peking.  Great news!

Looked good. Are all the legation troops already covered by existing OG ranges or are they still to come?
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

Are there any dedicated rulesets for the Boxer Rebellion out there?

vodkafan, this is an entirely new range of figures.  There was the original range by OldGlory15s.  This new range, through OldGlory25s is from Blue Moon Manufacturing.  The two companies are not affiliated - though they share some common past of which I'm no expert, the two OG, not as far as I know Blue Moon.

Looks to be an exciting range with both figures and buildings.

Many of the items expected for this range I expect will be useful for other gaming environments, pulp almost certainly.  Should know more by Historicon time frame.

Not sure. I'd always had an idea I could adapt the mechanisms from Peter Pig's Patrols in the Sudan rules. Quite like the idea ofor a grid based system for Boxer Rebellion in built up area, not sure about the relief column, but it could work I think.

I've been thinking of using these for the 'men who would be kings...' rules by Dan. Assuming I can get other projects off the work bench.

I can see that working very well.

I've been looking forward to the release of the Blue Moon 15mm/18mm Boxer Rebellion figures and buildings for a long time.  Thanks so much for posting this. Richard

Just painted up a unit of BM 18mm Boxers!   They are GREAT!

Cannot WAIT for the full release!

I will post pics when I remember how to post pic here!

In the meantime, I am building like a fool, a massive 15mm Boxer Terrain Table.

Kicking out buildings.   Came up with a system for mass producing the lower rent store rows and humble homes, that look great.  Quick too!

The idea is a walled barracks for a siege, surrounded by streets of buildings.  Some fancy, some average, and some low rent.    Have lots of pics of finished streets, on my FB page.

Oh, and I ordered a Mountain Bike Kit.  It came with EVERY part wrapped in fine scale corrugated card!   YESSSSSSSSSSS!  (You need lots ofthe stuff)
Reigning USTA Florida, and National 50+ Singles Champion  (tennis)  TWO Time Florida 50+ Singles Champion!  Just won State 2019!

Hey, wait a minute, the Blue Moon 18mm Boxers haven't been released yet!  What gives?  Or did I miss something I've been watching for everyday for many weeks now?

Or, perhaps you are one of the 'chosen few'?

Oh, can't - apparently - 'post' pictures here, have to use a photo hosting service.  More's the pity.

Have a look at what got posted this morning on TMP by Russ of Old Glory - five of the legations soon to be released as part of a massive Boxer range.

Even if you are a 28 mm die hard you're going to be envious of this stuff.

Here's the link:

Enjoy.

I am the Chosen One. :)   Call me "El Mahdi"  :)

You too, can be a chosen one.  Just take miniature company owner Dolphin fishing in Florida, and you get all sorts of perks. :)

miltiades, this range of figures and buildings is due for release to coincide with Historicon in the USA.  To order, visit http://www.oldglory25s.com website.  Also, if you don't already know, they have an Army Card you can buy that immediately (and I mean immediately - well, if you pay by credit card, otherwise you might have to wait for payment to clear) allows you to get a 40% discount on everything you buy from Old Glory 25s and Blue Moon by way of Old Glory (card lasts for one year then you have to buy anew).  I expect my recent renewal of my card ($50 US) will pay for itself several times over, already got a start with one order for other stuff.  Every time I've paid up my card it's been well worth the $50.

I've been salivating over this pending release for some time now.  Looks fantastic.
