Finished AEWWII British Airborne force
« on: 20 March 2009, 03:22:38 PM »
Well, besides a few bits 'n bobs here and there (a jeep, flamethrower and heavy machine gun), I am just about finished with my AEWWII Brit Force.

I thought I'd do some 'in media res' photos and see how they look in action. Now I just need to paint some German opposition for my son, and we are ready to actually play  :P

Here's the whole force double timing down a quiet Normandy road.

A dog handler, dispatch rider and SoE Agent watch the flank.

Close up of the dispatch rider.

Rachel Knight, SoE agent, lines up her shot.

A modified British Buffalo lumbers along in the centre of the column.

Stragglers run to catch up as snipers watch the rear.

The column disappears down the dusty road.

Fantastic  :-*

The whole diorama has great feel to it.

Your just waiting for a german patrol to come along.

Good to see all of those figures in one group.

Thanks for the comments everyone  :)

The models are mostly Artizan, apart from the battle suit (West Wind), Rachel Knight (Warm Acre), the bike (Bolt Action), the dog (Foundry) and the dryad (Ilyad). All excellent models, but I am especially fond of the Rachel Knight miniature, it was a joy to paint!

Now I need to think of some weird elements for the opposing germans. Someone mentioned a sorcerer summoning skeletons from the ground, I think that might look quite stylish, along with some WWI germans painted in ghostly tones, rather than the ever present zombies  8)

Really nice figures, is the dispatch rider converted?

Oh I really like that idea!

Make it a Krieghexe summoning Draugr (draugren?) and it's canonical...  ;)
