John, Martin(?) has come up trumps for you with these. They are gorgeous. I hope you sell bucket loads because you deserve to for trying a different look from the usual Martians. ;D
I like them a lot, now to think of how to bring them into our Venus campaign.  ???Dewbakuk over to you?

Martian pirates? A new take on the black Martian raders from the moon?

If you're looking at the trip to Venus (and adding to the list of Ironclad inspiration material) have you checked the pages of Spaceships Away (admittedly pulp rather than VSF) :

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the link, fun stuff, but too pulpy for my tastes.. I do have a Parroom Station Martian skiff that I bought some years ago that will be perfect for the Ironclad Martian to crew on their piratical trips to Venus... :D

Space Arabs.  8)

These are gonna be great. I can see them working really well with my Stargate VSF stuff. Have these as regular or militia troops and keep the hard to find Jaffa'a models for elites.

Too cool for school.  :)

Pure nostalgia for me - I was brought up on a weekly copy of the Eagle (and a bar of Fry's "Five Centres") every Friday when dad got home from work. Happy days.

Like them, they dont say Martian to me at all but are nice figures. Will have to get a Carter to paint for sure. Now where are the pictures of Mr Holmes and Mr Manchu?

wow   those would be fantastic for the race of Drune (nomadic traders) in our VSF setting

Agreed. Rabbitz, you have the Kaisers authorisation to immediately order and paint two hundred of these fellas..

These are very nice. I was almost tempted by the Sanwar but these have pushed me over the edge. My only request now would be can we see some mounted versions (and mounted on what?).

Those French also look very nice too and will probably bolster my forces at some point. Well done on such a large and varied release and hats off to you for trying a different look to the Martians. Those as others have pointed out, you have troop types that can be used for the Ottoman VSF army also! You can't lose! :-*

I can see these being recruited as irregulars in my VSF 'Grand Turk' army.

John Carter

For the record, this character is Lieutenant Gulliver Jones. John Carter was wearing a more traditional uniform with a big clear visored helmet. I will be buying one at Salute though, assuming there are a few available.

Yes Malamute, Martian ships are already written in. Mars built floatships are much cheaper for independant traders to purchase and employ. Only sensible for them to employ martian crew as well. Besides, it's not unknown for private equipment to be pressed into military service.

Here are both Gullivar Jones (foreground on the top image, surrounded by "Ironclad Martians") and John Carter (lower right on the bottom image), as depicted in Alan Moore's and Kevin O'Neill's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Vol. 2 comic.

Ironcladman managed to relieve me of most the contents of my walley yesterday at salute on a few packs of these.
I can honestly say they look good in the photos, but in the flesh they are superb.  :)

Now if we can persuade him to do some Martian artillerymen. ;) ???
