I got my jet bikes from the kickstarter today!
« on: 01 July 2017, 12:58:53 PM »
Intercepted the postwoman this morning.  ;D  Opened the box and there is a mass of unlabelled resin parts in bags. Didn't have time to do a thorough inventory yet (had to leave for work) but it looks like Curtis has thrown in many extra heads and possibly other bits too...thanks Curtis!

My intention is to not let these sit in the box but to get the jet bikes put together as soon as possible, even if they don't get painted for a while.

I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted

Jealous!

I was one finger twitch away from pledging but then the logical part of my brain reminded me what other stuff I had to do gaming-wise and that not only would I have to build and paint the jetbikes but invent some rules and try and get someone else at my local club (preferably several people) interested so we could play and possibly have a race league, the twitch didn't happen.

Really keen to hear how they have worked out and see your WIP on them.

What game you thinking of using them in and/or what rules you going to use?

Cheers

Hi John, thanks for the reply!
I am quite new to kickstarters, but when I saw this one it seemed such excellent value for money, so useful for only a small amount of a pledge that I had to go for it.
At the time I hadn't even thought of a game for them, but now I have them I think the best thing is to put them together quickly and paint them up, worry about the gaming uses afterwards.
Having said that, my friend has.been wants to do a race game and has already offered to write some rules for us.

Although they look simple to assemble, a big pile of grey resin parts is offputting for me; I get the same aversion to model kits too. So I have to overcome that first and spend a whole day, force myself to  make them up. When I get to the painting stage I will start to enjoy!

I am so very the opposite.  For me, that mass of gray resin (or pewter, or plastic, or whatever) is a line of coke waiting to be snorted, and I am not going to pause.

Then I start painting, and I get bogged down.
