Back to the Fellowship of Destiny as we continue on our Quest for Heroes!  This time, the Fellowship is helping Prince Magnus find the king's missing wizard, Wardoz.  With mentor's help, they set-out to the Wizard's underground lab to find him.

Hey Mike, I was at Origins and stopped by your game to watch between events. It's a great-looking game. I wish I had seen it before I signed up for other events.

I had a fantastic game of I Ain’t Been Shot Mum at the afternoon session of this year’s Operation Market Larden Lardy Day.

The game, set during Operation Barbarossa in June 1941, involved me leading a Soviet force forward to clear the field of an advancing German recce force before securing the bridges over the river.

My thanks to Phil and Jen for such a cracking game.

I finally got around to setting up and playing out mission 2 of my solo Sellswords & Spellslingers campaign. I'm using my Splintered Light Miniatures anthropomorphic animals as my heroes and villains.

The game was a doozy and went 17 turns. Lots of twists and turns that I did not expect. I really am enjoying SS&SS for the way it creates the ebb and flow of a skirmish.

For the battle report and more than 2 dozen photos, check out my Lead Legionaries blog:

We did Game 6 of our Nam'68 Tour of Duty campaign 2 weeks ago.  Another hard fight for 3rd Platoon.  The full AAR is up on my "Vietnam Stuff" thread.

Last week, our regular gaming group went back to Balczakistan (fictional wanna-be former Soviet republic in 1990), as tensions between the Soviets and the Balczakis slowly ratchet up.  28mm, using Xenos Rampant rules.  Full AAR is up in my "Modern Stuff" thread.

One of our Sunday night gamers really wanted to do a battalion level WW II rules set (O Group). What's worse (IMO), he wanted to do it in micro armor.

So, don't blame me for the pimples masquerading as miniatures in the photos! For a full litany of my woes, semi-rant, and explanation behind my aversion to that scale, read my latest entry on Lead Legionaries:

Yeah - I did a lot of 1/300th micro-armour when I was about 17 or 18 but, 40 years on, I have no interest in going back there. 15mm is about the smallest I'd want to go now.

WOW!  I still have my old micro armor and copy of TANK CHARTS rules!!!  I had some buddies over one night and they spent the entire night maneuvering their armor, never fired a shot!

In the 70s my youngest brother & I did 1/300th Armour & 1/3000 Naval.
Fictitious countries, that allowed us to have any ww2 (or even WW1, e.g. HMS Agincourt) surplus.
He chose Mordor as his model, worrying in a baby brother. All his tanks & warships had the Eye of Sauron logo.
I think he still has them, but doesn't play toy soldiers anymore.  :?
