Source for separate shields?
« on: July 03, 2017, 03:15:28 AM »
I'm looking for a source for separate un-decorated (no embossed designs) heater and/or flat-topped kite shields.

My ideal would be an endless supply of the old GW Empire heaters, and the undecorated high elf flat topped kite (or elongated heater, or whatever you would call them) plastic shields. But that's unlikely.  ;)

So I'm looking for an alternate source that's inexpensive & easy to get in the US. Any advice?

Not sure on size, but eccentric miniatures has some heaters.

Thanks for that reference. I had never heard of them. Interestingly, I clicked on the "About" link and discovered that they're the next town over from where I went to college! Definitely worth a try. Might get a few of the ballistae while I'm at it...

For UK based people perhaps Magister Militum: https://www.magistermilitum.com/ssh3-plain-knights-shields.html

I would say Fireforge Games plastic shields are the nearest I can think of to the old GW ones.

Again for UK, I would go for Essex Miniatures every time. A large range of shields and weapons.

I've bought kite & heater shields from Front Rank, Gripping Beast & Crusader Miniatures.
