Hi all,
I decided to dabble with some Samurai miniatures. They will mostly be "historical" in nature but I couldn't resist some fantasy elements mixed in.
First up is an Oni by Zenit Miniatures from their Kensei range. He's quite a beasty!!

I don't want to achieve immortality through my work; I want to achieve immortality through not dying.

Thanks gents.
Next up is an undead samurai. He's really a test run to see how it would look. I used a Warlord Games samurai with some old Wargames Factory skeleton bits. I think it's OK but the horse sculpt is a little too smooth and the head conversion is a little messy. I will probably bite the bullet and buy some Zenit Miniatures undead samurai.

Don't forget Wyrd has some undead asian models and oni in their Malifaux range. And Iron Wind Metals has a few undead samurai as well.

And there are these guys which, I must warn you, come in a lot of parts.

I had some similar ideas a while ago. I think the old Clan Wars range would be a gold mine for you!

Fantastic stuff! I'm painting up that oni at the moment and getting bogged down in all the details, well done for getting him finished 😊
Nice realistic twist on the traditional colourscheme too, it works really well
