(Commercial) Crooked Dice: Scooter Gang - OUT NOW
« on: 19 July 2017, 10:55:59 AM »
Here's a preview of August's release…

Escape your dead-end job and ride your scooter to the coast for a brawl with some Rockers. Three scooters and riders (plus the scooter is available separately) sculpted by Paolo Fabiani and painted here by Simon Bradley. Out now:

That is bloody brilliant! Presumably you are making some Teds to battle?

Those scooters are the nuts!

Now I am just waiting for someone to do an Imperial Guard Rough Rider unit on them.

Excellent.

How are the riders constructed?

I wondered how many variations were possible for the them?

Possibly - but nothing in the schedule yet.

Shame they're on Vespas and not Lambrettas.  :D

Teds were a bit old-hat (in the UK at least) by the Early '60s, it was all Cafe Racers/Ton-up Boys and Eddie Cochran, Cliff Richard, or Gene Vincent lookalikes.

 ;)

Maybe with dismounted rockers (prompting memories of the video of Norwegian beat combo a-ha song "Take on me").

There was some Mod/Ted overlap (and conflict) in the late 1950s: the Notting Hill Riots rather than Brighton Beach (cf Colin Macinnes' "Absolute Beginners" and Julien Temple's much-underrated musical film thereof).

There's a nice pack of greasers in Brigade's Atomic Café 1957 range which could be used for Mod/Rocker clashes.  Swap some of those heads onto Foundry Victorian Gentlemen for Teds.
Back from the dead, almost.

I saw a Ted in Hereford in 1986. He may have been the last one.

Probably a member of the SAS cultivating his 'fit in with the general public look'.

OK, who is going to be the first to do this?
