Vineyards for Italy, Crete and other warm climates.
« on: July 22, 2017, 01:39:11 PM »
Hi folks,

some of you may have already seen these on my facebook page, so apologies if this is old news!  However, for those of you who don't do Facebook (probably a wise move!) I've just finished building another commission. This was for 4 x 20mm scale vineyards. The customer already has some of my Northern European vineyards, with tons of grass and ground cover, but this time he wanted something that would be suitable for more arid areas like Italy or Crete.

So, they're 6 inch (15cm) square, they've got wooden upright posts, vine stems, tension wires and tons of foliage on the vines, but the ground is arid and sun-baked, so just a few smatterings of dried up grass.

Here are a few photos of the finished products.  The 20mm WW2 US troops are there for scale purposes...

Thanks for looking,

John at Take Cover Scenics.

They look great but I couldn't find them on your website - only the 6-10mm ones?

Beautiful!  :o
Useful for any period Mediterranean scenario!

Thanks for the positive comments, guys - it's very much appreciated.

Truscott Trotter - yeah, haven't had time to load them onto the site yet!  That will happen within the next 24 hours.  They're totally different from the 6-10mm ones.  The 6-10's obviously have ground cover and the lines of vines, but at that tiny scale it's not practical to bother with upright posts, vine stems, tension wires etc, as nobody would actually see them.  The 20mm ones have the full works!  They're £25 plus postage and fully hand-built.  Same price whether it's for Mediterranean areas or for North West Europe, where there's a lot more ground cover involved.  Here's a quick shot of a a group of NWE ones joined together.  Obviously a lot bigger than 6 inches square, but gives a good idea of ground cover, etc...

thanks,

John.
