Skirmish at Fort William Henry - King William's War, 1696
« on: August 01, 2017, 06:30:53 AM »
Gents,

Expanding on my idea of gaming King Phillip’s War using Muskets & Tomahawks, we take the action up to coastal Maine during King William’s War, fought about 10 years after the end of King Phillip’s War. This conflict is sometimes called the first French and Indian War as it was between the French and British colonial forces fighting over the soon to be familiar terrain between New York and Quebec.

You’re welcome to pop over and see how the French go raiding Fort William Henry in 1696.

Cheers

I really dont know what to admire first...
Excellent table setup, not too much clutter!
Very well painted figures, nice job with the drab colours for "civilian" clothes!
The make of the village huts is a source of inspiration!
Fine scenario and very comprehensive AAR!
Thanks for sharing!

Excellent battle report.
Great figures and terrain.
Glad you have some history of the period on your blog.
That puts one in the proper frame of mind to game it.
I have messed around with this period for a few years.
Maybe it is time to do some more with the period.
A big thank you for all your hard work.

Indian civilians, I recognise a couple of Foundry figures but where did you get the rest?

The civilians are from the Redoubt Miniatures range.

The redoubt range of Indian Civilian minis are a wee bit small but are fit for purpose and have a variety of poses – recommended.

Thanks. For me the historical research side of the hobby is a principal driver behind most of what I do. History comes first for me then nice minis follow if I'm lucky. Others get different things from their hobby, but that's my way.

Thanks all for popping by.

Cheers

Great looking board.  When I looked at the title I was thinking the log fort on Lake George that I had visited a few times as a kid.  There are so many interesting battles and little known actions that took place in New England prior to the revolutionary war.  I may have to dust off my collection of partially painted models and get them up to standard.

Damn, you have me thinking about this period. ::)
I must stay on task, doing pirates.
Using Blood and Plunder rules and a bunch of Foundry pirates.
Have starting rereading "King Philip's War."
Only bed time reading.
Yea, I will see how long that lasts. lol
