Martian predators. When I first saw them I was reminded of the great DOS game World of Ultima: Martian Dreams. One of the best games from the good old era when games still were fun. :) (even better though was the other ultima worlds episode: The Savage Empire).

They are dangerous beasts and can easily overwhelm a man.

You show one can get a lot of mileage out of painting 15mm, and you obviously can use comparatively 'larger spaces'.

My own interest was naval and aerial, but I've some Martian Empires from Black Hat that I hope will see table in not TOO distant future.

Thanks!

Doug

Thank you for the kind words.

Actually, I like 15mm for a number of reasons, and have my own collections for VSF, Pulp, Fantasy and SF.

For VSF my idea was that 15mm was ideal to incorporate small-scale aerial action with ground troops. There are some awesome 15mm Flying ships (very much John Carter inspired) available in the US and I'm saving money to get one of those ...someday.

What VSF still is lacking is the right amount of heroic individuals. After all VSF novels are character-driven to the extreme, and I always get envious when I see the myriads of Sherlock Holmes, Tarzans, Draculas etc. available. The land of plenty, so to say, while in 15mm it's a lot more prehistoric times, namely hunting and gathering...

I have just seen an email from Modiphius regarding expansions to their John Carter range. If it had been in 28mm, I might have bought in as I could have used with Tin Man too. What I would really like is a comparable range in 20mm or 15mm. I wish. I would like to scratch build some flyers in that scale.

Who produces those apes?

Dan, iirc they were sold by Highlander Miniatures in the US. Sadly the brilliant line of VSF wasn’t continued for ages (he had a Space 1889 license!) and the shop seems to be down by now.

Jon @ Khurasan has started a nice range recently and I am tempted to buy in there; he has also some great apes there and has teased a not-Tarzan and a not-Indy!

Well, the sooner we can finish all the holiday shopping, the sooner I can get to spend my gaming fund.  :)
