(AP 2017) Pike and Shotte
« on: 04 August 2017, 07:20:49 PM »
This is the start of my thread for AP17.  Last year I painted up two Roman Republican Legions but failed to complete the whole army.  This year I have set my sights a little lower by painting up some reinforcements for my ECW Parliamentarian army.

I have planned a single foot regiment - The London Blew Trained Band (40 figures), along with some command stands for my army (7 figures) and a few cavalry to fill out the ranks in my troops (8 figures).  If I complete these then I will add another foot regiment (40 figures).

First up are the Pikemen receiving a charge.  These are mounted 4 to a base and with 4 bases form a 16 figure pike block.  They are all from Warlord and are a mix of metal and plastic figures.

Here are a couple of shots of the complete pike block.

In the background you can see some half finished musketeers which will be up next.

Very nice and surprisingly dense looking formation with the small number of models involved might also use that basing method for future projects.

I like them :-*

Great start on the parliamentarians and good use of warlord plastics/metals.
