Now that is a sweet ride. Scalewise it looks fine, so long as your minis are on bases.

Thanks Fram. I guess thick fat bases would help, my 0.5mm transparent ones not so much. I tried to convince myself the car would fit but you burst my bubble! Oh, well, I'll have to stick with it as I like it and it's the car of the agents in the first Matrix film, and there's no Lincoln Continental made in 1/50.

Anyway, enough agonising about scale. Something small and scale free for a change: WIP Grey Aliens. I quite like these guys (and gals).

Agent Smith underwent fairly extensive surgery and he's being joined by Agent Jones (still WIP). I also managed to find a Lincoln Continental from the mid-sixties. It was quite affordable and the quality's pretty decent. It's a bit too big, but I don't feel it looks too much out of scale.

I don't think the car looks much out of scale. Those were some BIG cars.  ;)

Thanks for the nice comment, Wolf Girl!

Well, strictly speaking the car is too big:

That said, the reality looks even more out of scale to me  o_o, but with the car being too small ! The actor playing Agent Smith is quite tall, and the cars from the early sixties were not as big as later ones. Anyway, I should stop agonising over scale and get on with these and eventually have a game!

Yeah it's close enough to the Land Shark car era that you'll be fine.  ;)

Thanks, I'll just assume it's a big car!

Some progress. I've finished the Grey Alien league. I need to come up with some stats and perks for them. Any suggestion and advice welcome.

Thanks Dino!

I've created Pulp Alley stats for the Grey Aliens, and also made some cards by the same occasion. There is no picture included for Grum'Pi as I haven't painted him yet.

Feedback on the league would be welcome. In particular, I'd be interested to hear about anyone's experience whether playing with such a squishy league is viable and enjoyable. I made this league for my wife and I wouldn't want her to struggle. I've also included the league perks on the cards, so that she doesn't forget about these.

These are quite small minis! That said, Ha'Pi's missing. He disappeared without trace whilst trying to locate a device the Greys lost about 3,000 ago during a previous mission on earth. The league has been sent by the Intergalactic Council to find and rescue him and to recover the device before it falls into nefarious hands.

Thanks Fram!

That was a fun league to create. I'm still undecided if the device is a metal transmutator left on earth some 3,000 years ago, or an organic matter duplicator missing for 2,000 years. Both devises are part of the standard kit for travelling Grey Aliens. The metal transmutator is essential when they're away from home as their metabolism has a high requirement for various metals and metalloids that can be rare on some planets. The organic matter duplicator is convenient as Grey Aliens are fussy eaters and don't like carrying vast amounts of food from their home planet. Obviously, both devices would be considered magical artefacts of great power in technologically less advanced cultures.

Now for something completely different. This morning, I was rummaging through the lead pile to try to find minis to recycle in this project. Among the many grey and sad looking minis who had at one time been promised a role in a long forgotten project, there was Lara Croft. I felt particularly sorry for her, as I spent a long time on her and she even made it to the priming stage before being dumped for more shiny toys. I didn't like the lower part of her face and got generally bored with her. I've given her a new jaw and she's back in the painting queue. She looks happier but is still worried she may get dumped again. My eldest daughter would be keen on a Lara Croft league and this may convince her to game with us. The problem I have is that I've no idea yet about the rest of the league, as she is, I seem to remember, a bit of a loner.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion! This is an excellent idea! And incidentally, I've got a butler mini I wasn't sure what to do with. He doesn't look too much like any incarnation I've seen of her butler, but he will do the job, at least temporarily. Please keep the suggestions coming!

I think he looks a fine compromise between the two versions which immediately spring to mind:
