More SoBH and WHAA Reports
« on: March 27, 2009, 03:25:25 PM »
Yup, we have been playing "Song of Blades and Heroes" and "Warrior Heroes: Armies and Adventures" again.

Find out if Brother Cedric was able to escape confinement in the goblin nest here:

See how badly I can lose a game of SoBH here:

As it stands, I think I prefer WHAA at the moment. SoBH seems to involve too much luck in some respects. The Quality rolls for movement are a great mechanism, but they also encourage you to keep your troops together, and a figure with the Leader ability seems to be a must-have or you will quickly fall behind. In a skirmish game I would like to see troops splitting up more to undertake flanking actions. SoBH almost makes this too risky to countenance. I shall try some new tactics next time around and see what happens. I still have some ideas for actually winning a game! Now where did I put my loaded dice? ;)

Cheers,
Ruarigh

I liked it!
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.
