Tyranids versus 1940s British help wanted
« on: 11 August 2017, 08:35:08 PM »
For some reason i fancy doing something a bit different, anyone recommend some rules for this,  mainly a few dozen Tyranids against a small British force?  Maybe a Matilda tank and Infantry against genestealers and termagaunts?

Secrets of the Third Reich 1949 springs to mind, all the British stats are there and I can see the 'Nids being run as Sturmzombies with minor modifications. Even with some fiddling, the points system should still work fine, meaning you can make the game balanced or not, according to your preferences.

The 'Ultra Simple Engine for Miniature Engagements' (UseMe) system would work. I use it for modern military Vs. Lovecraftian horror. There are various rule sets available from Alternative Armies website, I'm pretty sure they have a WW2 set of rules. They are based on 15mm but it says in the books that 28mm is possible. You could fight skirmish level to medium sized engagements with them. If you get those, then the Mythos one or maybe a fantasy one then mix the two together. You should be able to build your own stats for the Tyranids if need be. The PDF's are only a few quid each.

Good idea by the way.

Sounds like an episode of either Doctor Who or Dad's Army so rules of that genre might be useful - 7TV perhaps?

G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T. would work as well.
