What wargaming shows in UK should I go to?
« on: 12 August 2017, 01:41:04 AM »
Hey guys!

So, I'm heading back to Edinburgh for PhD this year after 5 years of uni there. The one thing I never managed to do is to head to any of the big wargaming shows around the UK and this is something I'd like to rectify.

Hence why I'm asking: which shows are the best to go to? I can probably only make 1 or 2 a year, so I'd like to maximize my experience.

Thanks a lot in advance!

I travel to Salute in London every year from Finland, I think five years in a row now. It's worth it every time :)

While Salute is definitely the best show in the U.K, Claymore would be the one closest to you from Edinburgh. Unfortunately you have literally just missed it, it was on the 5th of August. The only other big one in Scotland is Carronade in Falkirk. It's unusually around the start of May.

Vapnartak in York would be my recommendation. Straight shot from Edinburgh on the train as well, usually early Feb.

Partisan is also good, runs twice a year, the next one being next weekend (20th August).

But from Edinburgh, your best bet is Claymore.
