Mantic GCPS Troops on Pre-Order

Truth be told, I have all but stopped adding to my collection for the last few years, and have been trying instead to whittle down the massive piles of plastic, resin, and metal figures that constantly taunt me with their lack of paint. :-P

This new release from Mantic is threatening to derail my embargo! The GCPS marines look, in my opinion, fantastic. Hard plastic (no restic this time, thank the gods), nice poses, good proportions, and cool gear make these guys sorely tempting to me. They remind me a great deal of the style of the Anvil Industries troops, which I love but are way out of my price range.
These Mantic figures seem much more affordable for my budget constraints.

Yeah, I've been eyeing them for some time. Great looking figures, way better than their previous effort.

I completely agree. Those are good hard sf infantry at a decent price.

I'm not sure I'd enjoy painting platoons of them, maybe three miniatures tops.  There's too much detail on them!  The kneepads have two plates or top of each other and a recessed cross in the centre.  The helmets are a mass of indistinct interlocking shapes that do not look satisfying to edge highlight.  Far far too busy.

I liked the old ones but hated their guns. So of course mantic made Call of duty marines but still gave them silly looking guns!

Anyone is also doing the pre-order? I could swear it said they would be shipped on the 22nd of September but now it says 29..

Not bad.  Not great, but I'd say they're better than Mantic's infuriating "almost" attempts they do with 90% of their products.  They have a very "near future" look to them, vs. real sci-fi.

Just letting you know that the release of the GCPS Faction and Faction Booster has been pushed back to September 29th. However, that does mean you've got an extra week to grab the discounted GCPS Strike Force bundle

Have mine on pre-order as well. Have not been this excited about a new release in many moons. Really love all the extra heads and arms that they include with the basic sprue.

One complaint I have always had about many plastic figure makers is that they will offer multiple weapon holding arms for every supporting arm. So you wind up with all these cool weapon arms that are very difficult to use. I really like that in this set it seems that there is a proper set of arms for each weapon.
