AirWar: C21 Missing Stats and Missile Ratings?
« on: October 01, 2017, 03:59:17 AM »
Not sure if anyone is still using these for aerial gaming, but I noticed that the Lock and To-Hit numbers in my MAX Data Annex are missing for the British Tigercat surface-to-air missile.

Anyone have another version that has those filled in, or care to suggest some values for it?

Also, interestingly, there are a number of stats for various Air-to-Surface missiles not included, which I guess isn't too surprising, since the Bombers Annex came later, as an add on option.

Ones I'm interested in are the Soviet AS-1 - AS-6 cruise missiles, as well as the Hound Dog, and Blue Steel.  Might want to add in the Skybolt too, just for grins, if anyone has worked up values for those, and cares to share.  If not, I guess I'll just have to work those out on my own.

Also interested in stats for the YF-23, B-1A, XB-70, B-36, Canadian Arrow and British TSR, T-50 Pak Fa, Pak Da bomber, and the Chinese J-20 and J-31 stealth aircraft, if anyone's worked up those too.

Of course, I'm always interested in other aircraft, weapons, and house rules too, if you care to share those also.

Thinking about trying out a -1 To-Hit mod (perhaps even -2), for large bombers flying in formations of 3 - 4 aircraft vs. SAMs.  Apparently, early SAMs would have trouble discriminating amongst the individual targets, so might "miss" inside the formation of the aircraft.

Due to the chirping of crickets, I'll take that as a "no".

I am afraid I don't have the rule set. I would note that the Tigercat is just a land-based, early GWS20 visual control only version of SeaCat, so if you have the stats for the systems fitted to the Fearless or Rothesay classes that would probably do.

I have the rules and the annex, but there are no rules for these systems there.  Maybe contact them and ask?

I did inquire on the Wessex Yahoo Group, but there's little traffic there of late, so may have to do this on my own.  Shouldn't be too hard, I suspect.

David Manley published these at some point.  I think these are 1st edition stats but could be converted

Missile   ASM/SAM   Generation   Range   Damage Class
AS-1 KENELL   A   1   UL   Light
AS-2 KIPPER   A   1   UL   Heavy
AS-3 KANGAROO   A   1   UL   Nuke
AS-4 KITCHEN   A   2   UL   Heavy
AS-5 KELT   A   2   UL   Heavy
AS-6 KINGFISH   A   2   UL   Heavy

Thanks for sharing!
