20mm / 1/72 Posters for buildings?

I'm maybe being a bit optimistic, but does anyone know of any sources for posters/advertising hoardings or that sort of thing in 20mm? I'm wanting to add a bit of life to the buildings I'm painting for my Mexican Revolution stuff. Graffiti I'm pretty sure I can handle by hand, but some suitable bits and pieces to stick on the walls too would be handy.

I know Mirliton have a set of 1/72 advertising posters, so some of those might serve as generic decoration, just wondered if anyone knew of anything else available which might serve? I was thinking possibly some SCW type images might suffice from a distance...

Alternatively, anyone ever made their own? I'm thinking vaguely about how one might print onto some sort of very thin acetate or whatever material transfers are made of, but that would be a complete leap in the dark. Maybe onto a low gsm paper might work?

Any pointers or suggestions much appreciated!

You can normally look for period posters with a google search, and there are ones that you might be able to find props from various movies set around then.

Just scale them right and print on standard printer paper, give it a bit of tea or coffee to stain it somewhat, then glue it in place. Then seal it.


For graffiti, one of the more interesting ways to do that is to print it out on an inkjet on normal printer paper after mirroring it, then cover the image with modpodge (use clear drying unless you have a lot of white in the image itself), then, while it's still wet, press and smooth the paper (modpodge side to the thing you're trying to leave the graffiti on), then let it dry. Use a brush and water to remove the paper and leave the image behind to be sealed on.

I have used wine labels which are reproduced in miniature in the Waitrose Wine Guide. A free booklet that shows ALL of the wine that Waitrose sell and includes a small image of the wine label.

Usually you can fine something that will work.
