My Inktober maps
« on: 03 October 2017, 11:08:44 AM »
Cheers everyone!

I'm well aware that this might be a bit OT for many users, but i thought it was still worth sharing

For this year's Inktober i decided to go for a cartography effort. Each day i'll post a bird-view map of a small area with some text (written by a friend), and i'll hope to have some good range of single-page roleplaying contents to add settings and locations for game masters.

A couple done so far, hopefully one per day for this month.

Day 1: Swift

Day 2: Divided

More to follow!

Cheers
Jack

Thank you!

Today's map : POISON
probably less elaborated than the previous two (it's one per day, afterall, i won't be shiny every evening! :( ), but i'm rather happy of how the tree trunk turned out. I'm definitely still trying to figure out my style, and that might be a way.

As for Inktober, it's a sort of community challenge, drawing one picture per day for the whole month of october.
Last year some VERY fine artists produced booklets and published several books too, this year i wanted to join the crowd with my not-professional works, at least profiting from the global enthusiasm, and forcing myself to draw more!

Thanks everyone!!

An excellent artwork, worth of sharing!
What letter fonts you use, please? Interested to draw some pirate maps...
Cheers!

Thank you so much for the support, folks!!!

Today's map: Underwater!

It's called Old Man Eloquent, sold by oldFonts.com: http://www.oldfonts.com/old-man-eloquent.html
It is not a cheap purchase, but it's wonderfully done, full of ligatures and alternating glyphs. If you're a font nerd, you'll appreciate this.

In complete honesty, it is possible to find on the net a ---friendly version of it, which i found before chosing it as my to-go font. As soon as i'll use it for any revenue, i'll definitely do the right thing and pay the pro copy.
