Kodsticklerburg: A Mordheim AAR
« on: October 22, 2017, 05:47:48 PM »
My new table's first Big Day Out. We played two games yesterday; as I got involved in the game and was constantly refreshing myself with the rules, I didn't take as many pictures as I intended.

More pictures and a few more words on my blog.

Beautiful Mordheim table! I tend to like a more cluttered table for gaming, but I have to say, the river, riverbanks, and natural edges to the table look wonderful, and the detailing (like the pier, the bridge, the broken roof timbers, and so on) is gorgeous. That's the sort of table it would be an honour to play a game on! I'm looking forward to browsing through your blog to get some insights into terrain building - a pleasant way to pass the time on a Sunday afternoon!

Thank you for the compliment Hawkeye. :)

Ideally I would like it to be more dense, with just a few inches between buildings. I have plans for a few more buildings as well some more scatter terrain, including my wall from Fenris. One of the buildings will use a smithy piece from Thomarillion and another will be a guard house to go beside the bridge.

Great table!
I love all the little details and seeing those cobblestones tells me that I really need to make a decent baseboard for Mordheim at some point.

OUTSTANDING WORK, Codsticker. The BEAUTIFUL board & the Brave War Bands may look EVEN BETTER here than on Tom's.
I am glad to see you posting photos of your FINE works to a wider audience.

Thank you guys. Ryan and I are going to try and figure out another play date- hopefully we can drag in a couple of other players with some different warbands (and I remember to take more pictures... o_o).

That is a really great example of what a Mordheim table should look like, wonderful scenery (as befits a wonderful game)

Thanks monkeylite. Before I had seen a map of Mordheim  I imagined that the farther you got from the river the more likely you were to find spaces inside the wall that weren't entirely urban. This table represents a suburb on the edge of one of those areas; perhaps a stretch pasture within the wall.
