Freebooter Miniatures size comparison
« on: October 23, 2017, 10:40:11 PM »
Does anyone have any knowledge of how Freebooter Miniatures size up to figures such as The Assault Group's Italian Renaissance range? I've found images comparing them with figure ranges that I've not heard of before so that unfortunately hasn't helped much!

Thank you

I'm also interested in this question, but there doesn't seem much response. Perhaps it might be worth asking on the fantasy board?

Mods, would it be possible to transfer this to the fantasy board please? I don't want to double post. Thank you.

Edit: thank you for moving this.

I don't have that range, but I could take some photos of freebooter miniatures (we're speaking about the German Freebooter's Fate game, right?) tonight wih a scale next to them.

Would that help? The minis are faily small in comparison to modern heroically scaled minis and usually well proportioned.

I can answer this. Give me a few minutes. The answer is going to be not well. The Assault Group figures I have are tiny for 28mm and Freebooter are true 32mm.

I'm sorry, these are the only assault group figures I could find and I am not sure if they are supposed to be adults. They are courtiers I believe.

Shown with three Freebooter figures.

And here are some additional manufacturers for comparison.

Darksword, Bombshell, Freebooter, AG, FB, AG, FB, AG, Reaper

Many thanks for the help. Wow, they are big old figures. The female assassin is one of the ones I was interested in and even taking the bases into consideration they are noticeably larger in proportion.

Thanks again

Indeed - thanks Red Graf!

I was interested in a mix with Front Rank WSS figures for a skirmish project including some Privateer Press Hordes figs and so far it still looks possible. Of course, it depends on your aesthetic sensibilities, but I think with careful basing mixed proportions in a skirmish game can be OK.

I'm sorry Dulydude, she's a bit kitbashed.  Female Wizard with staff, staff replaced with the sword hand from a broken miniature. Her staff went to another wizard.
