Over the Hills - Talavera, Afternoon Attack Play-test
« on: 29 October 2017, 07:41:38 PM »
This weekend saw the second scenario play-test using OTH and a lot more figures with all the extra rules added in for good measure.

Thanks very interesting regarding how the rules play.
I use BP , as I have large battles , max size will be 15 by 7 . It's an elegant system and can be altered to give specific flavour for a big bash . Would you think OTH could handle large armies and large areas as with the same ease .

Hi Lysandros,
I've played BP and know they work well for large battles and I think OTH are equally good, with a strong period feel.

Nice to see the troops getting further use Jonathan. Like the idea of breaking the main assault down into smaller scenarios too.

Well I always guage the rules I play on a fun/simulation scale and I reckon both sets give a fun game, but I rate OTH higher on the simulation side so they would be my preference.

Thanks Tony, well I'm trying to capture the key moments into smaller more manageable scenarios for smaller collections or for a shorter games without loosing the essence of what the whole thing was about.

It's quite fun working it back after having played the bigger games.
