Regiments of Renown - Harboth and the Black Mountain Boys added
« on: November 03, 2017, 09:25:10 AM »
So I have been collecting the Regiments of Renown since they came out and have nearly a complete set, I think the only one I am now missing is Karnac's Champion.  So thought I should start to paint them, oldest first.

So one Old Regiments of renown box

Add the dreaded metal oxidisation.  So what to do.

Well I had better paint them while they are still there so cleaning first

After a few minutes.  Probably should have wore a mask though.

I will undercoat them , paint them and seal with varnish and see how they last.

Golgfag's Regiment of Mercenary Ogres

Well first to clear the painting queue are Golgfag's.  Still have to base them and varnish them.

So I am still on a mission to get my pre slotta RoR painted but after painting some I though I should have based them first.  So on with the endless basing and undercoating.

Golgfags based

Bugmans Rangers 2nd Edition
Sorted out lots of my old dwarfs and found the 2nd edition Bugmans boxed set.  I know I would not have the time to strip and repaint so decided to just tarts them up a bit.  I redid the shields , add some washes and changed the bases.  Some photos of before, in progress and finished.

Holy crap, that's an actual regiment sized unit! Hats off to you for your endurance, painting all those!

Brilliant!
I love all those old RoR chaps.
 :-* :-*

You really have quite a collection and your work cut out to get them all done.
I look forward to seeing more.

Very nice. I came across some of mine the other day. Never got the Karnak's though.

Now finished is the 11th Regiment of Renown in the form of Karnac's Lizardmen Raiders.  The only miniature I never managed to get was the champion so I used a C26 Lizardman instead.

Great stuff! I really like those Trish Morrison lizardmen. Huris seems to be even rarer than most of the other slotta-based champions for the original RR range, for some reason. I've never seen one.

Fantastic!
I have a real soft spot for all the RoR. Bugmans and Harboths especially. Lovely to see them painted too!
