Storming the Citadel Chain of Command
« on: November 09, 2017, 03:24:36 AM »
I've been lurking on the forum for a while, but this is my first post.  I've been playing a lot of Chain of Command lately and particularly their rather tasty pint-sized campaigns.  Dave, my regular opponent, and I are mid-way through one of the more recent campaigns Storming the Citadel, featuring Grossdeutchland at Kursk (a grunt's eye view!).  I've been compiling all the AARs and related posts in my blog here Storming the Citadel Campaign AAR

Our most recent game is posted here Scenario 4 Hold the Line

So far honours are about even and it's quite a contrast from our last campaign Kampfgruppe Von Luck, set in Normandy.  Here are some pictures from several of the games and some of the terrain making posts:

Smashing photos. I've been following your campaign and really enjoying the game reports. It all looks to be on a knife edge at present.

I agree with you Rich.

Excellent terrain too!

Now listen to me you benighted muckers. We're going to teach you soldiering. The world's noblest profession. When we're done with you, you'll be able to slaughter your enemies like civilized men.

Thanks everyone, glad you are enjoying the campaign. I'm finding writing the AARs a great way to reflect on the scenario and my tactics (or lack of them!). I'm finding CoC a great system and if these AARs can help others discover the same thing for themselves then they are worth the effort.

Been playing Chain of Command for a little while now .....awesome system that rewards period tactics. For me though what elevates it above so many other sets is the campaign element! The pintsize campaigns offered by the Lardies really bring to life those small actions upon which great battles turn.
