Matters Nautical
« on: 10 April 2009, 06:58:37 PM »
Testing..Testing..This is the first time that I've tried a) taking photos. b) putting them on the Net c) pointing at them. So I hope it works. This is the Brigantine Calliope, currently piratical. Built from Gary Chalk's WI plans, (with additonal stay sail and spanker). And a hodgepodge crew. If this works I'll try and upload more pics.

And this is Le Bon Roi in pursuit - an elderly but trim Galleon rigged vessel that flies any flag of convenience. (It's a ?5.99 "pirate playset" toy substantially reworked.)
Ouch, must try to avoid casting shadows onto the sky.

These are my first go at a gun crew. Anatomically challenged sculpts are us. Shiny...I know that's after a couple of coats of matt varnish too. They're sitting on a lino template (useful find of timber coloured offcut)

And this is a little lateen rigged coaster - just right for close shore work and customs evasion.

Some might recognise this particular set of scurvy dogs as Imperial Militia from the games company that should not be named.
"...That would also be the French"

Well, the photos do work out perfectly. Really nice ships.

LOL @ "casting shadows on the sky"
