How about this, Dex? Not very pulp-y, but it seems to fit, somehow...

That was a link - if it didn't work, do a websearch for "Fat Dragon Games", go to the product page, and look at "Star Shuttle Resilience".

Gotcha. Here's the link here:

http://www.fatdragongames.com/fdg0058.html

I have a deep and abiding hatred of paper models, but that's certainly in the ballpark. More like how I envisioned the Ore-carrier's lander than the carrier itself, though.

I'm thinking of something closer to the Red Dwarf from the eponymous TV series, although boxier and not quite so big  ;)

Note how Dex has steadfastly refused to name the Ore-carrier, or to romanticize or anthropomorphize it in any way (very telling...).

Nice looking piece.

Fair bit of warning, though. Though I have built quite a few paper models lately, I haven't done the Fat Dragon ones. I have a very good friend who has, and he says that they are -awful- models. In fact, when I began work on the project necessitating all that paper stuff, he specifically warned me off of the Fat Dragon models, as did several customers at the game store where he works at.

That said, I can't speak from personal experience, just thought I'd carry forward the warning. For all I know they are amazing pieces, but my friend's usually pretty up on this sort of thing, and I tend to trust his opinions.

Thanks for the warning, Doc.

No danger for me as I hate paper models anyway... >:(
