Rebuilding Quebrada del Toro
« on: 19 November 2017, 10:43:56 PM »
Hi folks. It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here. Returning to the Old West once again, this time is a new phase. My old town will be retired and a new and better one built with what I’ve learnt over the years. New minis will also be painted, mostly Knuckleduster’s amazing line of Wild West characters, some of the best minis around for this period.

To kick things off I begin again with a Mexican Bandito, which is fitting as Banditos were the very first Old West minis I painted 7 years ago. The paint scheme was heavily inspired (read: completely ripped off) by Dazler269’s awesome paint jobs (found here http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=98071.0)

Lovely brush work. Are the poncho tassles done with a dark wash and a highlight of the initial colour? It's a very effective finish.

Thanks everyone. More on the way, hopefully soon.

I base coat everything before giving the model an all over wash of Agrax Earthshade. Everything then gets highlighted starting with the base colour then a couple of lighter tones. So in short, yep, the tassels are done using a wash and a highlight.
