Forth Valley Model Rail Show(Show pics-Pic Heavy)
« on: November 24, 2017, 09:50:02 PM »
Hi there.

I’m probably a bit late posting this. It’s this weekend. Has anybody been to this in the past? Is it worth going to? I think I might make a wee trip up tomorrow.

Is it that time of year again?
I wish I could, but my homebase is a wee bit too far away.
Loved the pics from last year (hint, hint)  :D

Anything for inspiration mate! I find we could learn some stuff from our model railroad brethren.

No, don’t worry, the year hasn’t gone that quick! ;) This is a new show for me. I hadn’t heard of this one before. The railway show I have been to annually in the past is Model Rail Scotland. That’s held at the giant SECC centre here in Glasgow. This show is held in a college, the back end of Falkirk and it was surprisingly good! :o

The show was held in two gym halls in the college and there was a fair amount of model eye-candy going on. I highly recommend it to anyone. Well worth the £5 entry fee.

I find I can tell how good any model/wargame Show is depending on how many pictures I end up taking.....and here I took a fair few. There was lots of lovely displays. Here’s some of the pics......

This one was a larger scale layout. The trams and the boats were great..

The realism in this next one was terrible!!! :o.....there’s NO WAY those workmen would be digging the road when a tea van was so close! ;)

This one actually had running water! :o

Best bit(for me) about this one, was the artist at the right hand side, painting the waterfall....

I think this next one has been at few shows before, but whoa!! :o His labour of love took him 2 years and seems to be all 3D printed. The trains are about 4mm high!!! :o

This next one.....who knew Thomas, Hogwarts and Jaws could be on the same layout...

Here’s just some random extra pics....

I'm relieved this is a different one!
And thanks for posting the pics, really nice stuff here.
All are grand, but the first one with the trawlers and coal trucks and carts is really splendid.

Fantastic stuff, thanks for sharing.

One thing though, the reality of the diorama is let down by the fact that at the roadworks, there were actually road workers, working  o_o lol
