Hi,
few days ago, I read the post of Captain Blood on the new Conquest Games plastic medieval knights - and that he finds that the quality of the sculpts of Conquest figures is mostly very poor.

I fully agree with the Captain - but I found a way to use the plastic archers from Conquest Games:

IŽve build me new Anglo-saxons and Vikings with a little green stuff and shield arms from their norman sets.

I wanted to have very character full (and as "hairy" as possible - like the old Foundry Vikings) heads - so moustaches and beards are really big ;-)

Most of them are still work in progress - so more to follow (hopefully) soon.

here the saxons first

here the first vikings - from one of the archers pose (the one with the longest tunic) - IŽve made my viking women and from some old Immortal greeks (trumpeter boy) - IŽve made the young boys

and here the last ones - I know painting could be better - and I want to correct them a little and bring more detail - also the green stuff work is not really finished

I also started some saxon cavalry - again using Conquest games

They look very nice.
Good conversions.
Yearly painting challenges only show me how useless I am at painting...

very kind ;-) thx

but as IŽve seen the posts for the first time, I sow them from a new point of view - so now I think IŽll have to do a lot on the details - especially when IŽll paint them

Very adventurous kitbashing and nice Green Stuff work.
There’s definitely something wrong with the stance / anatomy of the Conquest archer figures, but you have made them into something better.
Yes, the forthcoming Conquest knights look a lot better.

thank you captain ;-)

yes, the bad anatomy of them is really hard to correct - and if youŽll want to use them as archers - that is almost impossible imo - or youŽll get very strange looking poses of archers

@Codsticker - thx for "thumbs up" ;-)

Yes, you have shown that the stance is better suited to an individual armed with a spear and shield, perhaps ready to receive a charge, than shoot a bow.
